KIDS DANCE FOR ALL AGES

Weekly Freestyle classes to include Hip Hop, Swing and more.
Sessions: Classes run in 10 week increments starting:
Sept 20th, Oct 11th and Nov 1st
Children (ages 4-6):
You will learn proper body movement through exercises that teach balance and flexibility. We teach the basic elements of ballet and simple ballroom dance patterns and you will have the opportunity to participate in the student showcase at the end of the term. Class meets once per week for 45 minutes.
Junior Beginner (ages 7-11) and Youth Beginner (ages 12-18):
You will focus on basic movements and learn easy latin and ballroom dance patterns that can be used either socially or competitively. Each month the class will split the hour learning patterns in one Latin dance and one Standard dance, with new dances beginning every three weeks. One class per week will be devoted to learning another form of dance such as jazz, ballet, hip hop, Afro-cuban movement, etc. to develop your range and style of movement as a dancer. Class meets 1-2 times per week and concludes with a showcase at the end of every term.
Junior Bronze (ages 7-11) and Youth Bronze (ages 12-18):
You will continue to develop basic movements and learn more advanced ballroom patterns. One class each week will focus on the Standard Ballroom dances while a second class each week will focus on the Latin dances. We will add a new dance in each style every three weeks. A third class will be devoted to learning another form of dance such as jazz, ballet, hip hop, Afro-cuban movement, etc. to develop your range and style of movement as a dancer. Class meets 1-3 times per week and concludes with a showcase at the end of every term.
Choreography Class (ages 12-18)
This class is for the most advanced dancer who wants to explore the world of choreography and performance. You will have the opportunity to collaborate and develop choreography in several different dances, incorporating aspects of many styles of dance. The choreographed pieces will be performed at the showcase at the end of each term.
Silver Level Classes (available as needed for ages 12-18) Classes will begin the week of September 20th and continue for ten weeks through December 3rd. There will be no classes Thanksgiving week. One extra week of showcase rehearsals will occur December 6-10th. Each term will be broken up into 3 sessions that are three weeks in length. The tenth week will consist of a review of everything learned in the previous three sessions. The Fall Showcase will be held Saturday December 11, 2010. Students interested in participating in the showcase must pay an additional fee of $50 to cover the extra week of rehearsals. Costumes will be decided upon in each class near the performance date.

Pricing
Tuition per term is based on a ten week period. Significant savings can be made by paying in full at the start of a term.Tuition is non-refundable. This applies to any classes students miss and/or if a student decides to discontinue classes completely. Multi child families may pay full price for the first student and 10% off for each additional sibling.

Dress Code
- Shoes: Students are required to own a pair of Latin and/or Standard Ballroom shoes depending on which classes he/she chooses. Students who choose to participate in the freestyle class, must own either a pair of jazz shoes or dance sneakers which are available through the studio.
- Attire: Ladies are required to wear a leotard, full-length practice skirt for Standard and/or knee-length practice skirt for Latin. Gentlemen are required to wear black slacks and a white button-down, collared shirt. For Freestyle classes, unrevealing activewear that allows for bending, stretching, jumping, and rolling on the floor is appropriate.
Policy on Mid-term Incoming Students
- Children (ages 4-6) may enter class at any time during the term.
- Newcomer students interested in joining a class in the middle of a term may enroll at the start of any three-week sub session.
- New Bronze and Choreography students must meet with and have permission from the instructor to enter class in the middle of the term since the information learned is cumulative throughout the ten week period and we want all students to be successful in their dancing and begin at a level where they are most comfortable.
